Daudet authorizes Monsieur Colhynon to reproduce his "Port-drapeau" short story [first published in journal L'Evènement, 3 June 1872] and anything else he finds publishable in his works up to the present day. In a second letter, postmarked 18 August 1950, a relative of Daudet denies permission to Charles Henry Metzger to reproduce "L'Elixir du Père Gauchet."
